Only Jesus Truly Satisfies

  “The whole claim of the Redemption of Jesus is that He can satisfy the last aching abyss of the human soul, not only hereafter, but here and now”. Oswald Chambers  Oswald asserts that Jesus has the power to fulfill the deepest and most profound desires of the human soul. What is it that you yearn for the most? What need or desire consumes your thoughts and emotions? Psalm‬ ‭42‬:‭1‬-‭2‬(ESV‬‬) says, “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” Have you ever thirsted for God as the Psalmist says? Do you yearn for a deeper connection with God? His Banner Over You Is Love

  “…When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19 NKJV When the enemy surrounds me, whispering lies, taunting me. When I am filled with fear; can’t breathe; can’t move. The enemy whispers the same lies over and over; “unwanted”, “not needed”, “unnecessary”, “not good enough”, “failure”. His attacks are relentless. When the     battle within me rages on, and I just want to make it stop. When I am tired, and weary of fighting. For me, this is what it looks like when the “enemy comes in like a flood”. I feel overwhelmed, stressed, and under attack. Perhaps you have felt the same. But what an encouragement to know that when this happens “The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him!”  I wasn’t sure what was meant by “lift up a standard”, so I found that in ancient times of warfare, an army’s “standard” would have been a visible flag or banner.  Song of Solomon 2:4(NKJV) says, “…his ...
